Affiliate terms
Last updated 24 October 2026 · version 2026-10-24
Draft, pending legal review. These terms are for people and companies who promote SumMoney in return for a commission. They may change after legal review. Paid plans and the affiliate programme are not open yet.
These Affiliate Terms are an agreement between you (the "affiliate") and Janisis, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Janisis", "we", "us"). You accept them when you join the programme. They are separate from the Terms of Service that apply to members.
1. Joining
1.1 We choose who joins the programme. When you join, we give you your own code and link, and confirm in writing (email is fine) your commission rate, how long you earn on each subscriber, and the discount your audience gets. Together we call these your "affiliate details".
1.2 You must be at least 18, and able to make a binding agreement. If you join for a company, you confirm you can bind it.
2. What you earn
2.1 You earn a commission on each new subscriber who subscribes with your code or link, at the rate and for the period in your affiliate details. If your details do not say otherwise, the commission is a percentage of what we actually receive for that subscriber's plan, after tax and payment fees, and refunds.
2.2 A subscriber counts for you only if your code was used at checkout, or they arrived through your link, and no other code was used. If a subscriber uses another affiliate's or a member's code, that code counts, not yours.
2.3 You earn nothing on a subscription you, your company or your household take out, or on an account made up for the purpose.
3. Payment
3.1 We send you a statement each month showing the subscribers you brought (as counts and amounts), the commission earned, and any reversals.
3.2 We pay monthly, once your unpaid balance is more than US$50. If it is less, it carries over to the next month. We pay by Wise, PayPal or bank transfer, as you choose. Payments are in US dollars unless we agree otherwise, and you bear any fees your provider charges to receive them.
3.3 Reversals. If a subscriber you brought is refunded, or disputes a charge (a chargeback), within 60 days of the payment, we take back the commission on that payment. If we have already paid it, we deduct it from your next payments.
4. Tax
4.1 Before we pay you, you must give us a tax form: a W-9 if you are a US person, or a W-8BEN (or W-8BEN-E for a company) if you are not. We will not pay until we have a valid form.
4.2 If you are a US person and we pay you US$600 or more in a year, we will send you a Form 1099 and report the payments to the IRS.
4.3 You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including any GST, VAT or sales tax due on your services. If the law requires us to withhold tax from a payment, we will, and we will tell you.
5. How you promote
5.1 Say that you earn a commission. Every time you promote SumMoney, you must clearly say that you earn a commission if people subscribe through you. Put it next to the link or code, in plain words such as "I earn a commission if you subscribe with my code", where people will see it before they click. This is required by the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements, and by the Australian Consumer Law's rules against misleading conduct, and similar rules elsewhere apply too.
5.2 Be truthful. Only say things about SumMoney that are true and that you believe. Do not make up reviews or results. Do not describe SumMoney as financial, tax or legal advice, or promise that it will save anyone money.
5.3 No paid search on our names. Do not bid on, or buy ads against, "SumMoney", "SumOne", "Janisis" or any similar name or misspelling, in any search engine or app store. Do not use our names in a domain name, or an account name that could be mistaken for ours.
5.4 No spam or tricks. Do not send messages people have not agreed to receive, post your code on coupon sites without our permission, or use pop-ups, cookie stuffing, or anything that hides where a sale came from.
5.5 Our brand. We let you use our names and logos only to promote SumMoney under these terms, in the form we provide. You get no other rights in them, and you must stop using them when these terms end.
6. Ending these terms
6.1 Either of us can end these terms at any time by email. We can also pause your code at any time.
6.2 When these terms end, your code stops working for new subscribers. We pay commission earned before the end, under section 3, including on renewals still within your earning period, unless your affiliate details say otherwise.
6.3 If you break section 2.3 or section 5, or act dishonestly, we can end these terms straight away, and you will not be paid commission on the sales affected.
7. The relationship
7.1 You are an independent contractor. You are not our employee, agent, partner or joint venture partner, and you cannot make promises or agreements for us.
7.2 You do not get access to subscribers' names, emails or records. Statements show only counts and amounts.
7.3 We may change these terms or the programme with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes do not affect commission already earned. If you do not agree to a change, you can end these terms.
8. General
8.1 To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commission we owe you.
8.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, United States, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away.
